Many people get separated without a plan. What does it accomplish? Not much. Separation in and of itself isn't a magic trick to healing your marriage. There is proactive work you can do. The only time we really advocate for separation is when you have made significant effort and your partner refuses to engage in direct requests. Even then, it's a big decision.
