Steve Perry of Journey Microphone | At the age of 10, Journey lead singer Steve Perry was inspired to become a singer after hearing Sam Cooke's "Cupid" on the radio. Perry joined Journey in 1977, replacing then-frontman Robert Fleischman. Perry's soaring, anthemic vocals are synonymous with 1980s arena rock; Queen guitarist Brian May described Perry as "a truly luminous singer, in my opinion - a voice in a million." He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey in 2017
