Can you tell a Burrowing Owl from a rattlesnake? You'd think it would be easy, but juvenile Burrowing Owls make a defense call that sounds virtually identical to a rattlesnake rattling. This is presumably to scare away potential predators coming into their burrow that might want to eat them, since many critters don't want to mess with a rattlesnake.
