The Dearborn Heights City Council officially swore in Mo Baydoun as the new mayor Tuesday evening, following Bill Bazzi’s resignation to become the U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia. Baydoun, who had been serving as City Council Chair, was elevated to mayor under the city charter, which designates the council chair as acting mayor in the event of a vacancy.
