For 8 years, the Orange County Department of Corrections has sent staff and sworn officers into Cherokee school as mentors to students who've experienced personal challenges that result in academic and behavioral difficulties. With a combination of love, patience and commitment, these mentors have offered life-changing guidance to more than 300 students.
