I came across this fenced off section of land yesterday, hidden far up into Killarney hills in the national park in Kerry. This is what Rebecca Hosking @apartyofjays calls her wolf fences. Without our wolves and lynxes in our ecosystem to naturally balance out the deer and their non native partners in crime, the sheep, our land is stripped bare. Stark naked. Other than deer grass and some very hardy individual hollies or occasional hawthorn. Down to the bone. Missing it’s multilayered community
