Parents often ask if “virtual autism” is lifelong. Virtual autism means autism like symptoms in young children after a lot of one way screen time (TV, mobile, tablet, YouTube etc). In many children without underlying autism, these symptoms can reduce or even resolve when screens are stopped and early therapy with real life interaction is started. In children already on the spectrum or at high risk, extra screen time can worsen symptoms, but many of these screen driven behaviours improve once the
