Five-year-old trumpeter swans Charlie and Marilyn welcomed two new members of the family on May 30, 2023. The cygnets, another name for swan chicks, are staying close to their first-time parents as they explore the cove lake, forage in the grass and catch mid-day naps. They are the first trumpeter swans to hatch at the Zoo since 1996 and have an important conservation mission.
