The Phoenix Fire Department honors the life and sacrifice of firefighter paramedic Bret Tarver. Today marks the 21st anniversary of his line of duty death. Bret’s legacy lives on through training that teaches our firefighters how to resolve a mayday situation. Additionally, an award named in his honor is given to one recruit from each graduating academy class in Phoenix recognizing their courage and bravery.
