This year I am adding Baptisia also known as blue false indigo to my garden. This is a great pollinator plant and it is a host plant for several native butterfly species. It gets 3 to 4 feet tall and wide, prefers full sun, but can handle some shade, it is drought, tolerant once established, and its root system fixes nitrogen into the soil, so it does not need any fertilizer!
