When working around existing trees, be sure to only cut tree roots that are smaller than the thickness of your thumb. Anything larger should be left alone and you adjust your digging around those larger roots. Ideally, we would love to have space these coral bells 18 inches apart, however some had to be closer and a few had to be further away because of where the important tree roots were.
