A proper Darlington railway moment this - the InterCity 125 HST rolling over Skerne Bridge, past Hopetown, and then onto the newly-laid track into the Darlington Locomotive Works. Skerne Bridge opened in 1825 for the Stockton and Darlington Railway, and it’s still doing its job two centuries on. Seeing an HST glide across it is a brilliant clash of eras in one shot.
