Wonder how this skinny snake is going to swallow this inflated frog? A lot of “harmless” snakes such as this Peninsula Ribbonsnake, possess Duvernoy’s glands. These glands are located behind the eye and produce mildly toxic secretions to help subdue prey and aid in digestion.
