The postcode is celebrating its anniversary! 🎊 Almost like Swiss Post – except it’s turning 60, not 175 years old. The postcode was introduced in 1964, following the launch of a letter sorting machine at the time designed to handle increasing order volumes and compensate for staff shortages. 💌📬 To ensure that the sorting machine worked properly, a numbering system was required – and the postcode was born.
