We're nearly half way through our calving season. How can farmers tell if a calf has fed enough from the cow? The sad truth is, most calves don't get enough colostrum (first milk). A new born calf needs 10% of its body weight in fresh, gold (IGG brix 22 ) colostrum, that is between 20 and 38 degrees Celsius, within 6 to 12 hours from birth.
