Here are 3 things you must add before closing your pool: #1. Balancing chemicals. Make sure your levels, like pH and alkalinity, are balanced before closing. #2. Fast-dissolving shock. This helps keep your chlorine levels high when your pool is covered. And it’ll kill any lingering contaminants. You can use liquid chlorine, bleach or dichlor shock. #3. Polyquat algaecide.
