Timelapse footage captured the Garnet Fire as it spread in Fresno County, California, over a 12-hour period from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Officials said the lightning-induced fire, which started on Aug. 24, was “relatively quiet” overnight, but that it’s threatening nearly 200 giant sequoias — the largest tree species on Earth.
