Concentric Vs Eccentric This terminology relates to both the phase of movement in an exercise, and the, muscle contraction. Concentric is the lifting phase of an exercise. The load (bodyweight or resistance) is being lifted against gravity towards the clouds. You can remember this with C = Concentric, and C = Clouds.
