Department of Justice officials have discussed with Manhattan prosecutors dropping corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to the New York Times, which cited people with knowledge of the situation.

The Department of Justice, now under new leadership, has moved to drop its appeal of the classified documents case against Donald Trump's co-defendants.

The conversations between DOJ and both the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the mayor's legal team were first reported by The New York Times. Adams is facing a five-count bribery case that he has characterized as political retribution from the Biden administration for his criticisms of the former president’s handling of immigration.
