The US president applauded the arrival of Mr Putin as the Russian leader landed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska.

US President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin shook hands warmly at the start of their Alaska summit before heading into hours of discussions that could reshape the war in Ukraine.

The accident happened when the train collided with a vehicle at a level crossing, the company in charge of operating the Denmark rail network said.
