The death toll from the multiple fires raging across Los Angeles County rose to 10 on Thursday night, as the largest of the five blazes—the Palisades Fire—grew to cover nearly 20,000 acres as strong winds meant the “Red Flag” fire weather conditions will remain in effect until Friday evening.

Strong Santa Ana winds are fueling multiple wildfires across Southern California, forcing thousands of residents to flee from their homes.

Evacuation orders were initially issued for one zone, but several more were quickly ordered to flee as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
