Netflix has ordered a Little House on the Prairie series, 40-plus years after a long-running adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved books aired its last episode on NBC. The new version comes from showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine ( The Boys, The Vampire Diaries ).

Netflix isn't the only company that has planned a reboot of the series based on the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

It’s time to head back to Walnut Grove 42 years later! According to a newly released Deadline article, Netflix has ordered a reboot of the beloved 1970s family drama Little House on the Prairie. This comes after the initial reboot announcement made by Paramount TV Studios and Anonymous Content in 2020.

"Written during the Great Depression and first published in the 1930s, Wilder's stories were adapted into the hit TV series Little House on the Prairie, which ran for nearly a decade in the 1970s and into the '80s.
