Miyu Yamashita of Japan captured her first major title when she withstood a charge by Charley Hull by not making a bogey until the outcome of the Women’s British Open was no longer in doubt

Miyu Yamashita was the last golfer left standing at Royal Porthcawl over the weekend and officially won the 2025 AIG Women’s Open. Yamashita first turned professional back in 2021 and the victory at Royal Porthcawl was her first on Tour. You have to believe that it felt pretty sweet after four years of service.

Miyu Yamashita won the Women's Open by two shots to claim the first major of her career after the 24-year-old kept Charley Hull and Minami Katsu at bay to become the fourth different major champion from Japan in the last two years.
