The National Weather Service had a high surf warning posted since yesterday for north facing shores. Ke Iki also has a reputation for being dangerous, as it claimed two lives earlier this winter. “Ke Iki beach: It’s dangerous, it’s deadly, it’s not a good swimming beach. Go to a beach where we have lifeguards,” Tinneny said.

Honolulu Ocean Safety, along with the Honolulu Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. continued searching for two missing teens today on Oahu’s North Shore on Ke Iki Beach near Sharks Cove, according to the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.
