Horton, the seventh overall pick in the 2022 draft out of the University of Oklahoma, debuted on May 10. He was forced into the Cubs' rotation due to a few injuries, but he also did some forcing on his own, thanks to a 1.24 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in six Triple-A starts.

The actual game took place at the Rogers Centre last night, where the Cubs sent young fireballer Cade Horton to the mound to face grizzled veteran Blue Jays hurler Kevin Gausman. Miguel Amaya was in the starting lineup. I am assuming the battery are familiar with one another, and they certainly worked well.

The Jays continued their dominant play at home last night opening the series with a 5-1 win. Ernie Clement went yard with two ducks on the pond in the fourth inning to break open the game. Jose Berrios allowed two hits over 5.1 innings to improve to 9-4 on the season.
