Days after a gruesome ankle injury, New York Yankees infielder Oswaldo Cabrera took to social media to announce that he had undergone surgery.

Avoiding a tag at home plate while scoring on a ninth-inning sacrifice fly, Cabrera suffered a left ankle fracture during the Yankees’ 11-5 win against the Mariners at T-Mobile Park. As the Yankees prepared for Tuesday night’s game here, Cabrera was flying back to New York to see a specialist.
