The New England Patriots have some serious health concerns on the defensive side of the ball, ahead of Sunday's primetime showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.
The NFL's transactions report indicated that the Patriots signed Mitchell on Tuesday. Mitchell was recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs. He entered the NFL in 2021 as a sixth-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers out of Louisiana.
All things considered, the Patriots received some positive news on Khyiris Tonga. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Tonga's foot injury is slated to keep him out just one or two weeks. Tonga, who has played both defensive line and fullback for New England this season, had to exit Sunday's victory over the Ravens midway through the contest.
