Every president since Ronald Reagan has left a note for his successor, and President Biden is the first to write a letter to someone who is both his successor and the predecessor who left a note for him.

Before he leaves office for the final time, President Joe Biden plans to pen President-elect Donald Trump a letter, CNN is told.

President Trump described the letter that former President Biden left for him in the Resolute desk in the Oval Office as an inspirational letter that advised him to enjoy his term and emphasized the importance of the job.
