A specialized emergency response team took command of the destructive Greer Fire in eastern Arizona on Thursday morning.

A fire in the small Arizona community of Greer in the eastern part of the state prompted evacuations after it grew to 3,500 acres in one day.

On June 7, 2024, police were called to a residence near Rosser Street and Willow Creek Road in Prescott regarding a domestic dispute, but one of the involved individuals, 34-year-old Daniel Leslie, had left the scene prior to the arrival of police, according to authorities.

High winds and rugged terrain are posing challenges for crews battling the destructive Greer Fire in eastern Arizona's White Mountains.
