DDOT workers took to 16th Street NW near the White House on Monday to begin the reconstruction of Black Lives Matter Plaza.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) confirmed that construction began on Black Lives Matter Plaza on Monday, March 10.

The mural inspired millions of people and helped our city through a very painful period, but now we can’t afford to be distracted by meaningless congressional interference,” said D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser.
