DALLAS -- Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored twice to help the Carolina Hurricanes defeat the Dallas Stars 2-1 at American Airlines Center on Tuesday. Martin Necas had two assists, and Pyotr Kochetkov made 22 saves for Carolina (29-16-3), which has won three in a row, including 4-3 in overtime against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.
The Canadiens’ Lane Hutson extended his assist and point streaks (13 points; one goal, 12 assists) to nine games, tying the NHL record for an assist streak by a rookie defenseman, set by Shayne Gostisbehere of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2015-16.
