According to a feature from the Boston Herald, Jerod Mayo could have saved his job with the Patriots with another critical win in December.

The Patriots still have officially fired only Mayo, and Kraft said the new coach will decide what to do with this season’s last year’s staff.

Pats fans were rooting for him. But as verbal missteps continued, it became obvious Mayo lacked the proper amount of head-coach training.
