Besides the snow and wind, skies will be cloudy. Saturday will bring lows in the low-teens and highs in the upper-teens. Sunday will be colder still, as we’ll start in the teens in the morning and end in single-digits by the afternoon, due to cold air spilling into our region. Overall, the weekend will be active and chilly.

The vernal equinox is about 70 days — and counting — away. Before spring arrives, the groundhog will have his say abut winter’s end. Groundhog Day is Feb. 2 and if Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow that morning we could get an early spring, the legend says.
