X alleges a raft of companies conspired with the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and its affiliated body, the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), to pull advertising after the then Twitter platform was acquired by Elon Musk in 2022.

Elon Musk’s X is adding several more companies to its lawsuit accusing firms of conspiring in an advertising “boycott” on the social media platform. The newest complaint, filed over the weekend, adds Shell International,

X is now suing more advertisers in an antitrust lawsuit focusing on what the company’s CEO Linda Yaccarino has claimed is a “systematic illegal boycott.” The company formerly known as Twitter first filed the lawsuit against the World Federation of Advertisers and its brand safety initiative the Global Alliance of Responsible Media in August 2024.
