The 43-year-old Van Buren County man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, bought several Lotto 47 tickets “on a whim” at a gas station in Kalamazoo, because the prize was just too good not to take a chance, lottery officials said in a May 7 news release.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $90 million, with a cash option of $40.8 million. The winning numbers were: 16, 17, 43, 46 and 58. The Mega Ball drawn was 16. No one across the country hit Friday’s $80 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize tickets sold nationally.
