Elon Musk blasted the Republican spending bill, the signature legislation of President Donald Trump's first year back in office, in a post on X Tuesday.

Musk, who officially left the White House last week, appeared to be pointing to estimates from budget experts who found that the Republican tax bill could add more than $2.5 trillion to the federal deficit in the coming years.

Former White House adviser Elon Musk on Tuesday issued a blistering criticism of President Donald Trump’s tax and spending package, calling it a “disgusting abomination” as the Senate seeks to quickly pass the measure and send it to Trump’s desk before July 4.
