Dozens of passengers were forced to stand on the wing of an American Airlines plane at Denver International Airport as they evacuated the aircraft after one of its engines caught fire Thursday evening,

Flight 1006 had departed from Colorado Springs and was headed to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport when it was diverted to Denver after the crew reported “engine vibrations.”

Photos and videos posted by a local TV stations showed passengers standing on a plane’s wing as smoke surrounded the aircraft.
