Traffic across the Brent Spence Bridge came to a halt Monday as police worked to free a man who wedged himself underneath the bridge during a pursuit.

A man is in custody after climbing the Brent Spence Bridge after a police pursuit on Monday. Covington Police received information that a burglary suspect was traveling on Interstate 75 northbound near I-275, according to Covington Police. They added the vehicle was connected to a known home invasion burglary suspect.

A police pursuit led to the closure of all lanes on Interstates 71 and 75 on the Brent Spence Bridge after the suspect hid from police under the bridge.

A pursuit began as the driver, later identified as Joshua Baker, 38, of Cincinnati, fled from officers north on I-75 and across the Brent Spence Bridge. Police said he lost control and crashed into two other cars on the lower deck of the bridge.
