Officials to announce new charges from Los Angeles immigration riots as arrests reach 575, including an illegal immigrant charged with attempted murder for attacking officers.

Willie Mathews Jr., of south suburban Matteson, was spotted wearing a T-shirt and backpack with the word police on it around 5 p.m. in the 200 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police asked him for his credentials before arresting him and finding a loaded gun, police said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement riots in Los Angeles that started earlier this month, to date, the district attorney’s office has only confirmed that a dozen or so suspects have been criminally charged.
