Democratic Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine questioned Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump's nominee for defense secretary, about some of the more salacious reports that have come out about him, Tuesday in the Senate Armed Services Committee confirmation hearing.

The senator went after the former Fox News anchor for cheating on both his wife and a woman who gave birth two months prior.

Pete Hegseth came under heated questioning from Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) over infidelity, his behavior in his previous marriages, his drinking and whether he disclosed a 2017 sexual-assault allegation to President-elect Donald Trump’s team when he was being vetted to lead the Pentagon.

Va., questioned defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth on sexual assaults leveled against him and his failure to disclose the allegation to the Trump transition team, as well as accusations of drinking on the job.

Senator Tim Kaine accused Pete Hegseth of cheating on his wife, leading some to wonder what the basis for those adulterous allegations was.

Sen. Kaine was the first Virginia senator to publicly question a Trump nominee, ahead of the president-elect's second administration.
