He’s provided some continuity during a transition period for the cast, and now gets his own Cecily Strong-style send-off. There will be a new episode of “SNL” on Saturday, Dec. 20 and it will be the last one for the year. Ariana Grande is expected to host with musical guest Cher. This isn’t the first time Grande will be hosting “SNL” as she hosted back in October 2024 and served as the musical guest in September 2014 and March 2024.
On his last episode as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, Bowen Yang got an on-air review from none other than gay icon Cher. “Well, everyone thought you were a little bit too gay,” Cher told him. “But you know what? You’re perfect for me.”
