Amazon Web Services is working again, after breaking half the internet and taking many prominent video games and services with it.
An Amazon Web Services outage is causing major disruptions around the world. The service provides remote computing services to many governments, universities and companies, including The Associated Press.
Games of all types, from Fortnite to Wordle to Roblox have been affected by the AWS outage. Problems started at about 7.30am BST (that's 2.30am ET) when gamign services started having huge spikes on the outage-detecting website Downdetector.
Many of the world’s biggest websites and apps — including Snapchat, Roblox and several major UK banks — were knocked offline on Sunday after an outage affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS), the tech giant’s cloud computing arm.
The outage at Amazon's cloud-based web services knocked out major sites like Hulu and Venmo, plus Amazon.com itself. But most websites are back online now.
