The Chargers will not elevate Ezekiel Elliott from the practice squad when Los Angeles faces the Houston Texans in Saturday's AFC wild-card round game. The veteran running back was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday and had three practices.

The Chargers decided not to move Elliott up, instead promoting Jaret Patterson for the Wild Card game against the Texans. Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots in a reserve role and then came back to the Cowboys, the team that drafted him at No. 4 overall in 2016.

There's no denying that Ezekiel Elliott isn't the same player that he was from 2016-2021 with the Dallas Cowboys. The former Pro Bowler hasn't been as impactful over the last few years, due to multiple factors.
