Dan Quinn is on the verge of returning to the Super Bowl with the Washington Commanders eight years since his first trip with the Atlanta Falcons when they infamously blew a 28-3 lead and lost to New England.

In his first year in Washington, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has led them to a 13-5 record and the divisional round to face the Detroit Lions.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports that the Washington Commanders are hiring former San Francisco 49ers special teams coordinator Brian Schneider to fill the same role.

The San Francisco 49ers elected not to retain Brian Schneider after serving as the special teams coordinator for three seasons. The 49ers finished 15th in Schneider’s first year in special teams DVOA.
