Webster County authorities have arrested a man they say set a house fire Saturday morning. According to the Webster County Sheriff's Office, crews responded to a fire around 10 a.m. Saturday. They arrived in the 600 block of Maple Street in Lehigh to find the home's first floor fully engulfed.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWQC) - A 99-year-old woman was hit and killed by a city firetruck in Iowa City early Saturday morning. Iowa State Patrol said at 7:13 a.m., an Iowa City firetruck was leaving a medical call at Legacy Senior Living at 1020 S Scott Blvd when it hit the woman. Troopers identified the woman as Evelyn Bothmer.

JONES COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) -- Three people were hurt on Friday morning in a crash near Monticello. The crash happened around 7:15 a.m., according to Iowa State Patrol. A vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 38 and lost control due to weather conditions, sliding into the southbound lane and striking another vehicle.

Evelyn Bothmer, 99, was struck by an Iowa City Fire Department truck that was leaving the scene, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report. Bothmer, who was described as a pedestrian, died at the scene. The truck was driven by Brandon Pflanzer, who is also president of the union representing the department's firefighters.
