As the Big South Conference looks to make Johnson City its home for 2025, city officials expect the upcoming March games to generate significant amounts of revenue on multiple fronts.

CHARLESTON – The Big South Conference released its preseason accolades and coaches’ poll on Wednesday afternoon, selecting a pair of Buccaneers to the All-Conference Team. Additionally, Charleston Southern was picked to finish in 5th by the league’s head coaches.

South Carolina showed once more who’s in charge of the Southeastern Conference. The No. 2 Gamecocks (19-1, 7-0 SEC) got 14 points from Joyce Edwards and used their trademark lockdown defense to end No.

Jordan Marsh had 19 points in UNC Asheville's 72-65 victory against Radford on Wednesday night. Marsh had five rebounds, five assists, and three blocks for the Bulldogs (16-6, 7-1 Big South Conference).

Kelton Talford scored 25 points as Winthrop beat Presbyterian 76-67 on Wednesday night. Talford added 10 rebounds for the Eagles (14-9, 4-4 Big South Conference). KJ Doucet added 12 points while going 4 of 8 and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line while he also had eight rebounds.

The night featured a clutch 3-pointer from Bishop Feehan’s Maddy Steel, a big shutout by BC High’s Drew Karlovitz, a 16th-straight Boston City League swim title for Latin Academy, a flag-staking win from the Holland (formerly Burke) boys’ basketball team,

The Presbyterian Blue Hose will host conference opponent Winthrop. The teams meet Wednesday for the first time this season.

One player made history in the process. Senior guard Colin Cordle set a new program single-game record with 48 points to help South Albany walk out with the win. The previous record was 41 points, held by Drew Henderson, who set it in 2010, and Isaiah Gilliam, who tied it in 2021. Cordle went 20 of 42 from the field, attacking the paint at will.

UNC Asheville takes on Radford in Big South play Wednesday. Wednesday's meeting is the first of the season for the two teams.
