With his term on the Sioux Falls City Council ending next year, David Barranco announced Friday, May 23, he is running for South Dakota’s state auditor position.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This year’s election will be the last time the Sioux Falls School District holds a standalone election. Moving forward, all districts around the state will have to decide to either hold their next election during the primary or general election.

With 2,958 total ballots cast in the district’s last standalone election, voter turnout came in at a low 2.33%.
