The 24-year-old Protas has looked good in a top-six role this season even without seeing much power-play time. Matt Roy and Tom Wilson also scored, and Logan Thompson made 31 saves for the Capitals (32-10-5), who have won five in a row and earned points in 11 straight games (8-0-3).
