A woman was rescued from an elevator in Virginia Beach after firefighters rappelled about seven stories down the elevator shaft to get to her.

Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal fall down a shaft on N. Main Street early Thursday. The Tarrant County medical examiner identified the victim.

A man died after possibly falling down an elevator shaft during a reported burglary, the Stockton Police Department said.
