WalletHub, an online financial advisory site, this week released its annual list of the best and worst states to raise a family, with New York falling one spot from last year’s rankings, but remaining firmly within the top 10.

BOSTON - Massachusetts is No. 1 yet again on a report that identifies the best states in the country for families. WalletHub's updated ranking for 2025 cites a "good blend of economic opportunities and safe conditions for children" that combine to give Massachusetts the top spot.
